With funding from STAR-Ghana, Ghana National Association of the Deaf ( GNAD) in partnership with its sister organisations: GFD, IG, GNAD, GBU, GAPA, GSPD, Share Care and other DPOs implemented a 8 months’ elections project in 2016.

The joint disability movement’s project aimed at promoting inclusion of PWDs in the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections through series of civil engagements.

GNAD’s component aimed at achieving full inclusion of Deaf needs in the 2016 elections through the provision of SLIs in political parties’ campaigns, media highlights, EC’s education and other state institutions. As part of the project activities, series of training and engagements were carried out to promote Deaf needs in the elections process. Stakeholders’ engagements were in Kumasi, Ho, Cape Coast, Takoradi and Tamale and Bolgatanga targeting the Media, NCCE officials, EC officials, CHRAJ and political parties.
