One hundred adolescent students which comprise of both gender of Savelugu school for the deaf were sensitized on Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) issues and Proper practices in Menstrual Hygiene. This action came about from the results and recommendations obtained from the monitoring of the previous implementation of the project. It was realized that a lot of adolescent girls in some deaf schools have been absenting themselves from academic activities in school while some are being embarrassed by their opposite sex.
To provide adequate education on the SRH to adolescent deaf girls and women, a training session event was held at the premises of the school which was attended by the regional director of Special education, the Municipal Director of Social Welfare, and Girl- child education representative.
