GNAD Elects New National Leaders

The Ghana National Association of the Deaf has successfully elected new National Leaders at the 2018 Annual Delegates Congress that took place in the Ashanti Region. The keenly contested elections, supervised/conducted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Kumasi office, saw the election of Mr. Matthew Kubachua as the new National President of GNAD.

He is partnered by Madam Monica Dowuta who was elected as Vice President. Madam Doris Anokye won the President for Women’s Wing position & Saadia Abukari was elected as Vice President for the wing. Other officers include Mr. Richard Doku who represents the Youth Section, Mr. Cosmos Wuanka as National Secretary, Mr. Seidu Issifu as GNAD Public Relations Officer and Frank Nana as treasurer.

In accordance with the constitution of GNAD, 2012, the new leaders would be holding office for a period of 4 years.

Presence at the elections were representatives from all the regional associations, former presidents and the local electoral commission.
